History

We provide butchers, meat processors and food businesses with all the butcher supplies they need to help run their business (except meat) from ingredients, machinery, packaging, clothing and everything in between – all the products needed for a butcher shop. Our customers are at the heart of everything we do.

Scobie & Junor have been serving butchers and the meat industry in Northern Ireland for over 70 years. Based in McKinney Industrial Estate at Mallusk, just on the outskirts of Belfast, we are centrally located just off the M2 motorway.

We represent many major manufacturers such as MRC, Kerry, Scotnet, Foodmaker, Mealmaker, Victorinox, Medoc, Kolbe, Rex as well as some local ones such as Scotts.

Trade Counter & Collection Point

Our Trade Counter is open 5 days a week. 8am till 5pm Monday till Thursday, 7:30am till 4pm on a Friday. You can pop in anytime to collect what you need.

We have dedicated free customer parking bays right at the front door.

Show Room

Our 1,000 sq foot Showroom has dozens new and pre-loved machines on display, along with other butcher equipment such as knives, clothing and many tasty ingredients.

Manned by knowledgeable staff with years of experience we are able to discuss the latest trends and tastes, and demonstrate and advise on many technical aspects of the equipment.

Warehouse

Our 10,000 square foot warehouse holds thousands of products.

We operate it to the highest BRC Grade AA standard by a dedicated Warehouse Team.

Shipping can be arranged by one of our dedicated vehicles or by carrier.

Customer Service

Our Customer Service Team is on hand to understand your requirements and process your orders.

The Buying Team ensures we carry the optimal stock levels and can expedite any requirements.

It also works hard to maintain the lowest possible prices, and ensures we comply to the ever changing border requirements.

Van Runs

We have a fleet of delivery vehicles which cover the whole of Northern Ireland.

Our Vans are ideally suited to serve butchers in village and town centres, carrying hundreds of items for immediate delivery.

Manned by experienced ex-butchers, the driver can also give on the spot expert advice.

Via their iPads they have access to instant live information such as stock availability, leadtime, technical details and latest pricing. We try to provide a service that is second to none.

Lorry Delivery

Our Lorry has tail-lift capability with onboard electric pallet truck to safely deliver pallets to larger processors at a time that suits you.

We provide deliverys to dock doors via carriers when the need arises.

Machinery

Machinery Sales & Service is the backbone of our business, and we understand how important it is to our customers. We stock brand new Vacuum Packers, Mincers, Mixer-Grinders and many other machines on site here in Mallusk. We can supply and install these and many others which we source from our suppliers.

All come with 12 months parts and labour warranty. We can provide up to two hours of free training when we install a machine. You can be assured when we leave you will be fully satisfied and the machine will be able to produce as specified.

We can offer Trade In deals and Payment Plans to make your purchase easier. In addition we offer Service Plans for a small monthly fee which will keep your new investment in the best possible condition.

We always carry dozens of pre-owned machines. Our Inventory lists are available via your Van Rep or on Facebook. Or just pop in and browse. A full service will be carried out before delivery, and most come with 3 months parts and labour warranty.

Our Machine Hire fleet of vacuum packers and mincers is available for rent for a week to as long as you want. You can collect the smaller table top machines from the trade counter or arrange for delivery for the larger equipment.

Spares & Service Department

Our Service Department is stocked with over 1000 spare parts for many of the popular brands such as Kolbe, Sirman, and Turbovac. We have access to the manufacturers technical departments and can source any part needed.

We believe in our customers getting as much value from machines they have bought, even from years ago. We carry many spares for classic equipment no longer manufactured such VC999, Butcher Boy and Sheerline. We have many parts lists and manuals for these machines.

Our Service Engineer is equipped with a service van carrying tools and spare parts needed to keep your processing equipment working. We provide routine service as well as breakdown cover. We understand that if production is stopped it means lost profit for you. We offer a Priority Breakdown Service; if we receive a call before 12 we aim to be there same day. This is available to Service Plan customers only and carries an extra charge.

We have direct access to Ingredients Technical Development Technologists where we are able to not only match but develop ingredient blends and seasonings.

If you want your own distinctive sausage then we are your first call.

We have a Northern Irish based Technical Sales manager who can visit your site for specific NPD project work. He will be a single point of contact from concept to delivery. He will service your account to manage your individual needs such as changes in demand forecast, stockholding, promotions etc.
